This trip was made to begin my ‘Plant Based Manhattan’ photo series.

My son didn’t sit still too long on the Amtrak ride to the city. The conductors were all relaxed & friendly.

Stopping at Peacefood Cafe’s Amsterdam Avenue location & swooning over their vanilla cake.

I love vanilla cake & this is easily one of the favorites I have had to date.

My first photosession for my ‘Plant Based in Manhattan’ photo series was on our first full day in the city, at Peacefood Cafe’s downtown location. In between photographing the dishes I snapped some on the phone.  Later on I ate their Vegan Chesseburger (bottom right).  I like a good vegan burger. This one was excellent.Instasize_0920214552

My 2nd food photosession on this trip, at Terri Restaurant’s Financial District Location.  3 more food photo stops would happen that day- Angelica Kitchen, Quintessence & DF Mavens. Doing food photosessions (or any type of photosession) with a toddler can be challenging, perhaps not even recommended.  As the day progressed, things got a bit more difficult.  Point taken!  Next time less sessions per day Mama!

Lunch at Angelica Kitchen. Their Tuesday Lasagna. What a great memory.  This was a very special lunch as I really appreciated the atmosphere of this establishment and it was nice to sink into some gentle, good space with some great food & wine for a bit.

What I wrote…“This hour in the city feels special somehow. Release. The evening rush will slow soon, restaurants & bars are filling with people ready for good times with friends & families. The light dims & the air cools. I find a cozy nook for my babe & I on this last couple of hours on our trip, thinking, until next time NYC….”
