Waimanalo Beach Day
My earliest memories of the beach are simple & warm, straight to the heart of nostalgia. Having spent my childhood in Florida, Sunday beach days were a norm for us on those coasts & instilled in me a great deal of appreciation & love for getting an early day start on the sands & proceeding to send a day of activity & relaxation there. That feeling after a good, long beach day is both simple & exquisite to me.
So it is with joy that I am able to spend beach days with my son here in Hawai’i in his first few months. His little feet have felt ocean water & the grains of sand under toes & soon we will wade into calm waters further & eventually take our first dunk together. I already sense an appreciation & joy of the elements in him . On his first beach day around 1 months old he was visibly excited by the feel & movement of the soft cool breeze. I look forward to contributing to the cultivation of his love & curiosity for the elements & watching it grow.
