En Route to a Salzburg Shoot
Above: The models en route to our first of three locations for a Friday afternoon photoshoot
These days, when I travel, I like to have photoshoots lined up.
So, a week or so prior to our recent Salzburg weekend vacation, I posted about my visit on a Salzburg Model & Photographer group page on Facebook and within a couple of days was communicating with two male models there about setting up the shoot.
I have been shooting a wide range of subjects and have different things I like about different shoots. I love the variety and playfulness that a female photoshoot can hold. Thus far, I love the poise and spirit that a male photoshoot can have. I love the candidness and capturing the spontaneity of interaction that couples & family photoshoots often offer. And, I love the detail oriented nature of going to a business for a shoot and photographing their product and location for their marketing needs.
When working with models who are developing a portfolio (such as the 4 above) what I love is the high energy, enthusiasm and contagious sense of collaboration. We originally planned to do a very casual “urban shoot” but with the spontaneous (yet entirely thoughtful) planning of the two males, we soon had 3 locations lined up to shoot at, as well as two lovely young women to also take part in the shoot. I could not have been more happy to have linked up with professional, fun and kind individuals who really made this 3 location photoshoot (at the start of our 4 day weekend in Salzburg) very memorable.
Next month also marks the one year anniversary of my photography business, Nomad Dakini Design. Check out my celebration gallery and the development of my style and shooting over the last year here.
