This Time Around….
Full moon nearing. Lakeside cabin dwelling for a couple of days before we head out of here….
Helicopters raging overhead!!!!
Once darkness fell, on this waxing and wily moon, the helicopters started surging. I can barely hold a phone conversation on the outside deck. It’s acceptable, perhaps, only because these are our temporary lodgings before we take flight in a couple of days. Because the deafening sound keeps the felines from becoming too comfortable on the outside deck. Because that same sound is perhaps a last reminder of the focus of the post we have just spent a full year at- Fort Rucker: Home of Army Aviation.
That fact is sonically driven home long into the night. The roar of the choppers almost becomes soothing….
Packing. No, the kitty is not going in the suitcase. And, unfortunately, I had to remove my hockey skates, last minute, to save space. I never knew she felt such a cozy affection with the skates, but, I understand….
That is indeed Murphy, on top of a sofa turned sideways.
Moving has become old hat for this kitty.
The Skull-A-Day Blog is one of my favorites. I bought the United Skull of America shirt and it arrived right in time before we left our house. I love this shirt- a skull designed from all the states in the nation. Fits lovely and is simply an awesome design.
Cabin lodging. I can dig this.
At home, we call Ronja (cat pictured above) Eeyore-ette. For good reason. She has the same neutral, sort of mopy feeling of that beloved friend of Winnie the Pooh.
However, in transit, Ronja shows a new, spunky side. Devil-may-care attitude almost, in exploring her new (temporary environs). She likes “hotel” rooms, what can I say. Like caretaker, like kitty.
As a kitty mama, I just say, I done good. This one is thriving in transition. No small feat with the felines.
Love our lodging pre-move.
Not sure about the meaning to All Along the Watchtower, but feel compelled to include a lyric quote:
“No reason to get excited,” the thief, he kindly spoke,
“There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke.
But you and I, we’ve been through that, and this is not our fate,
So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late.”
The Murph. Our little Jedi kitty.
